Weekend Recap

This past weekend, my dad came to visit and we had a great time with him.
Nolan had a soccer game on Saturday (the season just started again) and we were really excited to see how much he has improved even in the last couple of months. He did really well...he scored a goal the first time he got ahold of the ball!  (Like father like son!) Ha!
We did a lot of relaxing, hung out by the pool, and it was nice.
Friday night, we saw "The Blind Side". By far my favorite movie I have seen in a long while.
Have you seen it yet? I give it 2 thumbs up. :-)
We are buying it for sure and I cannot wait for my mom to come over and watch it with me, too. :-)

Just wanted to share a few great pics that were taken over the last couple of days.  I am learning some cool new things with my camera so you'll be seeing some more pictures as I continue to practice :-).

My pretty girl. I love her more than words!

Fabio is a great dad and I am so proud and lucky. :-)

44 More Days!

Until our first family vacation of FOUR!
We booked our Disney Cruise last night and we cannot wait. We are leaving for 4 nights on May 9.
Fabio and I have been working so hard and we cannot wait to get away with our kids and just be a family.

This is the reason why working from home is so hard sometimes....

Because I can find a million things to do besides actually work.  And who can blame me when I have a baby at home who looks like this? (Of course, I am biased!)
It is so fun just to dress her up and take pictures. I wish I was a better photographer.
In my next life, I would like to learn. Ha!
Anyway, I enjoyed the morning with the kiddos before starting my workday and captured these beautiful shots before we left for the park...
(Nolan, by the way, wanted nothing to do with this "photo" session as he was too busy watching cartoons!) Ha!

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to Nolan!

(I am warning you ahead of time, this is going to be a long one) :-)

I cannot believe that my baby boy is FOUR today.  4!  It seems like just yesterday that I had him.  Where does the time go?
Nolan's birthday festivities started with his school party on Friday.  We made cupcakes for the class and he was so proud to bring them to school and be the "big cheese" for the day.
He got to wear this special "birthday boy" crown, and I think he ended up wearing it the rest of the weekend.  He was so excited this year about his birthday.
Yesterday was his birthday party at Congo River Golf. It turned out really cute! The weather could not have been any nicer.  It was a perfect day to be outside.
Today is his actual birthday, and we pretty much just hung around the house because he wanted to play with all of his new toys.  Daddy had his hands full today putting batteries in everything and putting things together.  I think they played all day.  I made Nolan a special dessert tonight after dinner, and for those of you who know Nolan, you know he was in heaven. That was the best present of all!  (He has a killer sweet tooth like his daddy!) :-)

I started this blog so I could document things that are going on in our world so I wanted to write a quick note to Nolan and have been thinking about it all day.

Dear Nolan,
You are 4 years old today!  What a very special day.
4 years ago today you were brought into our lives and my heart was forever changed.
Growing up, I knew that I always wanted to be a mommy.  I dreamt of having children and being able to take care of them and nurture them.  I never really knew though how much I would love it until I had you.
You have taught me so many things, Nolan, even in your 4 short years.
I loved you the day you were born, but watching you grow up and become a "big boy" has shown me love like I can't even write about.  I am so proud of the little guy that you are becoming.  You are so lovable, sensitive, funny, thoughtful, handsome, smart (I could go on and on!).
Of course, you give your daddy and I challenges and it hasn't always been easy, but we love you so very much and cherish every day with you. Although I want to freeze time and keep you little, I can't help but think about what you are going to be like when you are older.
What I do know is how glad I am that I am lucky enough to be your mommy.
You are my "best friend", and I love you so much.
Happy 4th Birthday, big guy!
Love you to the moon and back,
Mommy
xxxoooo

So I was looking through some pictures of Nolan across the years on his birthday, and I thought I would post to show you what a big boy he is becoming.

I wanted this post to be mainly about Nolan, but I couldn't help but also mention Arden turned 5 months on Friday!
She is such a doll baby and we cannot get anough of her.
She is really starting to develop quite the personality!
What is she up to these days?
Arden, you are doing such a good job still sleeping through the night!
We put you down by 7, and you are up at 7!  WOO HOOOO!!!
You take 2 decent naps during the day, and sometimes cat nap in between.
You are so in love with your brother. You stare at him and watch everything he does,
and he CRACKS you up.
You are our CHUBBY MONKEY for sure, still!
You are in a size 3 diaper and pretty much 6-12 month clothes. (Some 3-6 still)
Our first fight is still about your hairbows..you love to pull them off and well, I keep putting them on.
You are not going to win that one, ha! :-)
Your eyes are still the most beautiful blue color we have ever seen and we are so excited.  (Well, I am excited, daddy says he has to get the weapons ready!!)  Ha! That crazy daddy!
You are sitting up really well, and love to hold and swat your toys.
No teeth yet, but everything goes in the mouth so maybe soon?
We love you so much and want you to know how much you complete our family.

Well guys, I think that is it for today. Its been a great, long, weekend and I am gearing up for a busy week!
Fabio says he is not feeling well so I am praying he doesn't get what I had last week, it was awful!
Next weekend I am having a huge garage sale and doing some major spring cleaning!

Have a great night!
