A little of this and that...

First, did you notice I changed the blog a bit? I wanted something a little more snazzy..you like it?  Someday I would like to actually get a "blog makeover" (yes, they have those) and pay for it to look really cool.  It's not all that expensive ande they can do some really cool stuff.  I just don't have the patience for graphic design. :-)  This will have to do for now.

Anyway, so this past weekend I had a best friend come visit with her family and we threw her a second baby shower for her new little man coming in April.  It turned out perfect. We had it at a nice restaurant on Lake Eola.  Here is a shot of the girls :-)  It was a great visit and I can't wait to see them again and meet her new little boy.  I am hoping to plan a getaway to Raleigh where they live this summer.

Last week we had a pretty scary thing happen with Fabio and his health.  To make a long story short, he went in to the mini ER for a bad cough and was told he had tachycardia which is a rapid resting heart rate.  They referred him to see a cardiologist so of course we went the next day.  That doctor didn't like how fast his heart was racing, too, and that coupled with high blood pressure is not good.  1st step is to rule out any life threatening possibilities so he had to have an echocardiogram done and we just got the results...no major heart issues!  That is great news.  I was so worried about him!  He is only 32, and in fairly good shape (except the fact that he has a major sweet tooth!!!) :-) He has been on a heart monitor to see if they can pick up what "triggers" the heart to race and how often it does.  Now they move on to some of the non life threatening possibilities that it could be.  I wonder if a wild 3 1/2 year old, a 3 month old that doesn't let us sleep, a busy household and work have anything to do with it???  Nonetheless, we still need to get to the bottom of it and fix it.  Praise God it isn't anything serious though.

The kids are great. Nolan still has his cast on but this time it's "azul" as he says.  His orthopedic doctor just left for Haiti for a few weeks so he has to have this one one for a little while longer than originally expected and then hopefully he will be done with casts.

Arden is giving us a rough time at night.  I am so tired all of the time and I just can't wait for her to sleep better.  I just keep reminding myself that this, too shall pass. It is so hard when you are going through it though.  She is so stinkin' cute though.

A Productive Weekend!

Nothing too exciting but the title of the post says it all.  We did so much cleaning and organizing this weekend and I feel so good about it!  We cleaned cars, windows, behind furniture, you name it!  Then we went to BJ's and Wal-Mart and stocked up on groceries and household stuff. I couldn't help but think about the people in Haiti several times today and just feel very sad for their situation.  We are so blessed and so lucky.  As my 3 1/2 year old was saying "yummmm, look at all our food!" I couldn't help but think about all of the people who are hungry and thirsty and need help there.  My heart is so heavy for them all.  Ugh.

On another note, we are looking forward to a visit next weekend with the Jones Family!  We cannot wait to see them!  Saturday we are having a baby shower for baby Jones and then Jen and I will be doing some shopping. There is NEVER a time we miss to sneak away for some retail therapy!

Tomorrow we have a follow up appointment for Nolan so I will keep you posted on what is next. I am hoping they change his cast out because as you can imagine, well...I will save you the details but let's just say it's GROSS. Yuk.  And, he wants a new color...he wants black this time.

Arden is doing well...still not a great night sleeper yet but we are hoping soon. At the 4 month mark she is officially starting cereal and is going to start sleeping in her crib.  Right now she is still in the bassinet next to our bed.  I cannot believe she is going to be 4 months old already.  I am cherishing every day with her...it goes so fast!

I am going to leave you with a few pictures of Arden and one picture I forgot to post from our Christmas photo shoot of the 2 guys in my life.  It is my most favorite picture ever.  Nolan looks up to his daddy so much and this picture just captures a special bond between father and son.  Amazing.

I love these 2 guys so much!

BRRRR...It's COLD outside!

And Arden does NOT like it!  Or maybe she doesn't like that hat that we just thought was the cutest thing ever on her?  We couldn't stop laughing she looked so stinkin' cute!

Photobucket

It has been such a cold weekend here..I even saw some snow today as Arden and I were headed out early to a baby shower!  My car read "32 degrees/ ice". It's never said that before!  After the shower, Arden and I ventured to the mall to do some shopping and there were soooo many people at the mall it was crazy!

Just want to post some cute pictures from the past couple of days :-)

Tomorrow is My sister-in-laws birthday (Holly) and we are going to a nice place for lunch.  Then to the grocery store and home to get ready for the week.  It is supposed to be even colder tomorrow!  I am enjoying the change because before we know it will be 90 degrees again!

Good Night!

It goes so fast...Arden is 3 months old today!

Happy 3 Months Arden!

Today Arden did not want to do her birthday photo shoot. She just wasn't in the "smiley" mood.  So these are the only 2 pictures we got.  The minute I put the camera down, she would laugh.  Little stinker.

It is so cold here today that we decided to stay in and stay in pajamas.  These types of days are so nice every now and again.  But of course, she had to have a bow for pictures.

So what am I up to these days?

I don't go back to the doctor until next month, but mommy thinks I am about 14 HEALTHY pounds now.
I am in a size 2 diaper.
I do NOT like my binky, but mommy and daddy wish I did and still try.
I drink about 6 bottles a day.
When I go to sleep at 7, I go down without a fuss. I sleep until about 2, and then again until 6.  This makes mommy and daddy very happy.
I still sleep in the bassinet next to mommy and daddy but am working on transitioning to my crib for daytime naps.  I don't love it there yet.
Speaking of daytime naps, I am on NO schedule yet. I sleep whenever and it makes it very hard for mommy!  Hopefully soon I will be settling into a daytime schedule.
I laugh out loud and am a very happy baby.
But, I am also very high maintenance.  (Daddy calls me "Danielle" sometimes).  That crazy daddy!
Speaking of daddy, I think he is hysterical.  I laugh at him all the time.
I love my big brother and watch his every move. I can't wait to talk to him and tell him to stop rubbing me on the top of my head. He does that to me all the time. :-)
I love when mommy holds me. I get into a trans with her and just stare.  I know she is my mommy. My face lights up when I see her.
I "talk" a lot and make all kinds of noises and love to mimic and have "conversations".
I hold my head up pretty good and am working on sitting up with support.
I love to go shopping with mommy. I am a really good girl with her.  But, I also really like to watch football. I laugh and swat at the tv when it is on. I can stare at it for the longest time.

I think that's about it for now.
Bundle up, everyone!  It is COLD!

EDIT:  Just an FYI, Nolan had his DR appointment yesterday and he does NOT need surgery!  Praise God! His arm is still "crooked" but Dr says it is healing nicely in the cast and we will check the progress again in 2 weeks.  The highlight is he finally has his "verde" (that's green for all the non-spanish speakers..ha!!!) cast!  Only my kid asks the ER doctor for a "Verde" cast!

Happy New Year! And some other random stuff :-)

Happy New Year Everyone! I can't believe it's 2010. I am looking forward to this year. I love that we get a chance to start fresh and really think about what things we want to change and do differently or do more of for the new year. I have been doing a lot of thinking and reflecting. I am excited to take a little better care of myself and lose the last 15 pounds I have from my pregnancy. I vow to exercise more. I want to be more patient with the kids, spend more one on one time with Fabio, and find the time to do more of the personal things I like to do, too. I want to do some neat things in my "virtual classroom". And I want to make sure I am present for my family and friends. I am excited.

We spent brining in the new year as a family of 4 at home. We visited with the family a bit in the evening but then came home and put the kids to bed. It's pretty hard to do anything to exciting with a 10 week old and a 3 1/2 year old. Plus, I have to be honest. We are getting old and can't keep our eyes open ourselves past 10! I think Fabio was asleep by 11. I actually had to wake him up right before the ball dropped just so he could see it. Boy things sure have changed! Ha!

Anyway, a few days before New Year's Nolan had his first major accident. Fabio took him to check the mail on his new bike that Grandma bought him for Christmas. It was only his 2nd time on the bike but he was riding it like a pro. Of course, it had training wheels, but he was still balancing and riding it well! Well, just like a Munroe, he was a bit too confident and was riding faster and faster. Fabio kept telling him to slow down but nope, he didn't. He ended up hitting a hole where the drain crate and road meet and because of the training wheels, it tipped the bike. Nolan put his arm down to break the fall, and well, you can imagine what happened.

Yep. A broken arm. Not just in one place, but 2. :-( We spent that night in the ER at Arnold Palmer.

Photobucket

That picture was right after they put him to sleep to put the arm back in place and cast him. I will spare you the pictures of the arm before, it is pretty yuk. Looked like an "s". My heart broke for him.

Tomorrow we go for our follow up appointment with the pediatric orthopedic trauma doctor to see if he needs surgery and to get a new cast now that the swelling has gone down. Pray he doesn't need surgery.

He is doing pretty well despite having a cast. It's amazing how kids just figure things out. That cast wasn't going to stop him from playing his new drums and instruments that santa brought him or the new video game either! I don't think we even had to give him pain medicine but once. He is a trooper. I will let you know how tomorrow goes.

On another note, we went to the Citrus Bowl parade a few days ago in downtown Orlando and had a great time. It was the first real parade we had been to in a while! (other than the UCF homecoming parades and annual Avalon Park parades) Nolan had a blast.

The past couple of days we have really been cleaning up the house and cleaning things out for a big garage sale we are going to have in February. I love getting organized and making room for new things! Ha!

Here is just a random picture from today. It is so cold here that we didn't want to leave the house and realized we just needed a few things from Target. Arden was so happy today. She is my angel baby.

And last, I am leaving you with one special picture that was atken at my step siter, Alexis's wedding back in November. It is my dad holding Arden and she was so comfortable and sound asleep. I just love this picture and want to share it. :-)

Well, I am off to make a meatloaf and finish up some laundry.

Here's to a Happy New Year!!

Much Love!
